Nuar
Nuars are a rare race of intelligent bipedal bovines with ties to lost Golarion.1
Appearance
Nuars have formidable frames and bovine hooves and heads. Their hair and skin tend to be pale with reddish eyes, although a rare nuar might have blue, green or yellow eyes. A typical nuar stands between 7 and 7.5 feet tall and weighs about 300 pounds.1
History
There's no scientific consensus over the origin of nuars. They claim to be distinct from their larger, savage minotaur cousins, and they lived in the ancient Golarian city of Absalom , then moved to Absalom Station, before the Gap. They have since built their own mythology and history by drawing pieces from other species and faiths.1
Society
Despite their ugly appearance, nuars are on average smarter than humans, and naturally possess a grasp of complex patterns and shifting connections. They appreciate the culture of orcs and half-orcs, and often follow orc traditions that don't interfere with their interest in technology.1
Nuars are low in number, even in Absalom Station, where the nuar population is concentrated. They most often find work on exploratory ships, taking advantage of their physique, intellect and urge to research and create. Older nuars, wishing to establish roots, often return to Absalom Station to build a family or community.1
