Neutral is an alignment used to describe a person or group that holds no strong feelings toward any particular philosophical or moral outlook. Neutral people tend to prefer good to triumph over evil (as evil tends to be more of a threat), but feel no strong push to advance the cause of good. They mostly act in their own self-interest, and believe that the universe tends to show no particular moral position either. Nonsentient creatures are almost always considered to be neutral, as they lack the moral awareness to make such choices and act from instinct or their programming.
