Nodethe is the fourth planet in the Orphene system in the Vast, home to colonists from the Golarion system. It is a world of waking dreams with a mysterious connection to Oneirian, an entirely different world accessible by sleeping.1

Geography

Nodethe is the only planet in its solar system that is not a gas giant. It is a typical habitable world, with polar ice caps, oceans covering more than half of the surface, breathable atmosphere, abundant minerals and varied, edible or domesticable flora and fauna. Compared to other worlds, Nodethe is windy, with heavy rainstorms and long-lasting dust clouds.1

When a visitor to Nodethe sleeps, they disappear from it and travel to Oneirian with all the energy of a full sleep. When they fall asleep on Oneirian, they return to Nodethe. Natives of Oneirian similarly travel between both worlds, but only once or twice per month. If a native of Oneirian leaves Nodethe, they seem to disappear forever and never return to Oneirian, while if a visitor dies in Oneirian, they never return to Nodethe's reality.1

History

Some time during the Gap, Nodethe was colonised by humans, elves, lashuntas and formians from the Golarion system, who travelled there by way of slower-than-light starships.1

Inhabitants

Nearly a dozen independent colony-states exist on Nodethe. They compete against each other over resources and economy, but have never gone to war with each other. Since communication with their ancestral home was restored, these colonies have petitioned to join the Pact Worlds as protectorates, but due to their lack of a planetary government, the Pact Worlds' official recognition of them is limited to embassies and trade deals. An ancient cave painting in Oneirian suggests an incoming calamity that will merge Nodethe and Oneirian and exterminate all inhabitants of both worlds.1
