Tudine
Tudine is a dycepskian-infested planet located on the edge of a black hole.1
Geography
Tudine is a temperate, terrestrial planet, orbiting a binary star, with four continents, several archipelagos and frozen poles. Its system once had eleven planets, but three have been swallowed by the black hole, sending their moons into outer space. On the system's edge is a gas giant that emits powerful radiation and serves as a natural lighthouse.1
History
Soon after Tudine's peoples first developed space travel, the dycepskians arrived and silently spread before anyone realised the threat. Through segregation and wars, governments tried to isolate susceptible populations and eliminate infected nations, but after two generations, only a few uninfected Tudinians remained in isolated fortresses.1
As the dycepskians restarted the nascent Tudinian space program, the natives activated a doomsday weapon, turning one of their suns into a black hole. The black hole was too small to swallow Tudine, but its gravity was nonetheless sufficient to prevent the dycepskians from leaving.1
Inhabitants
Tudine's native life consists mostly of large herbivores, small pack-hunting predators and scavengers, including a species of intelligent humanoids that resemble humans except for their white hair and skin.1
For more than a century, the dycepskians have been watching the black hole slowly devouring Tudine's second sun. Knowing that the end is nigh, they have rebuilt their society into a utopia, broadcasting advertisements into the void in the hope of attracting travellers with advanced spaceflight, while going through the motions of an ideal capitalistic family life.1
