Wealdriad
Wealdriad is a stormy, oceanic, remote planet in the Vast, where strange basalt columns rise above the seas.1
Geography
Wealdriad orbits a distant blue-white star that covers the planet in perpetual twilight in its slow rotation. Its weather patterns are turbulent and unpredictable, and the planet is almost entirely oceanic, with the only landmasses being strange basalt spires. When solar flares hit Wealdriad, the columns release anomalous magnetic forces that distort the auroras, resulting in extraordinary light patterns that seem to trace out three solar systems, including the one containing Arniselle.123
Inhabitants
Long-range scout starships of the Azlanti Star Empire have been discovered with Wealdriad's coordinates and details, indicating that the Azlanti once visited it in the past, but did not consider it valuable enough to annex.4
In 316 AG, the Starfinder Society starship Unbounded Wayfarer became the first Pact Worlds ship to explore Wealdriad. After its crash, its exploration logs were recovered by the Society, who subsequently viewed it a low priority due to the lack of intelligent life or resources, and only sent a few unmanned probes to monitor the planet.1
Although initial reports recognised no intelligent life on Wealdriad, it might still exist, too far underwater to detect or too primitive to build cities. Ancient carvings and artifacts suggest that humanoids and morlamaws once gathered at the basalt pillars to worship Ghatanothoa.24
