Vast

The Vast is a fringe region of space where there are few Drift beacons and most planets are unexplored.¹²

Despite its name and the fact that much of Vast is far from the Pact Worlds and galactic core, pockets of the Vast exist as close as the galactic core, while well-charted areas with many beacons in the galactic rim are considered part of Near Space—distance has no bearing on a location's inclusion in either region when compared to Drift beacon density.²
