Amran
Amran is a planet located near the original homeworld of the Swarm, and one of the first to fall victim to them. It is now home to the amrantahs, living constructs holding the souls of its original inhabitants.1
History
Amran's history before the Swarm invasion is almost unknown and further muddled by the memory erasing effect of the Gap. According to the most prominent theory, when defeat at the Swarm's hands was inevitable, Amran's people resorted to a bold tactic. While soldiers bought time, technicians built machines known as ghost forges, imbued with artificial intelligence and the entirety of the people's knowledge, and designed to collect souls passing from Amran; technomancers then sent the ghost forges to the Ethereal Plane. As the Swarm consumed the planet and its people, their souls were safety stored within the ghost forges.1
Some time after the Swarm abandoned the planet, the ghost forges phased back to the Material Plane and brought the stored souls back to life in construct bodies imbued with their collective knowledge. However, the records were twisted by the Gap, causing the reborn to remember little of their scientific or magical knowledge, their society's functions, their individual entities, and even their own name. With only a rudimentary understanding of their origin, they adopted the name amrantah, after their homeworld.1
Inhabitants
Since the amrantah's re-emergence, Amran has become famous for its artistry, entertainment, pleasure and innovation. The cities and environment are maintained by the ghost forges, while the amrantahs govern the planet in a hands-off fashion. They have since regained some of their ancient technomagical prowess, and Amran technology is often associated with bleeding-edge designs.1
