Landahl
Landahl is a planet inhabited by the peaceful illyrs, who have long been resisting a Veskarium invasion.1
Geography
Landahl is a world of lush rainforests and plentiful resources whose surface land area is divided between three continents: mountainous Assica, somewhat dry Pothyria and jungle-choked Tabisaan. Separating them are great shallow oceans filled with life.1
History
When the illyrs developed space travel, they explored the stars with a sense of innocent wonder, and were greeted by Veskarium scouts. However, when the vesk followed the illyrs home, they brought war with them. The Veskarium easily defeated Landahl's weak military and conquered the planet, but within a year, the illyrs started forming independent resistance cells. Seeking to terrify the rebels, the vesk destroyed the city of Hizzala with an orbital bombardment, but this backfired as the grief-stricken illyrs escalated their efforts. The illyr insurgency has lasted more than two decades, constantly frustrating the Veskarium's leaders.1
After a series of miscalculations, the invaders' early commanders were removed from office and replaced by Koben Adalandil, who prefers surgical strikes and pragmatic ploys, unlike the dramatic assaults favoured by his predecessors.1
