Kasath is a massive desert planet orbiting a dying red giant in a solar system far from the Pact Worlds system. It is the home world of the kasathas, a race of four-armed humanoids now common in the Pact Worlds system after migrating there on the worldship Idari.

Kasath has little wildlife and is plagued by devastating radiation storms, a trait that has contributed to the kasathan value of cultural stability. The most powerful and arrogant kasatha Great Families still live there, determined to revel in the half-remembered achievements of the past.
