Red giant
A red giant is a big, bright star that's in the later stage of its life. It has a big outer atmosphere that's puffed up and not very dense, which makes its size much larger. The surface temperature of a red giant is about 5,000 K or lower, giving it a color that ranges from yellow-white to reddish-orange.1
Known red giants
The star around which the Kasatha homeworld of Kasath orbits is a red giant,2 as was Bori, the red giant whose explosion 6,000 years ago created the Tabori Cluster.3
