Gulf of Legions

The Gulf of Legions is a sea separated by only a narrow strait (known as the Jaws of the Mother) from the Snowsalt Sea on the planet Castrovel. It is surrounded by the Colonies, the formian home continent, and some of the largest hive cities are located on its shores, including Chisk, Kebenaut, and Queensrock. The Gulf of Legions gets its name from the historical period where all of the hives were in a constant state of war against one another, and the sea was often darkened by formians crossing it on the backs of massive water-striding yugolars. Today the gulf is used primarily for trade between the various cities found on its shores, although the formians are unaware that a secret lashunta listening post is still hidden in the Setae Range on its western shore.
