Those Who Become are one of the two major faction of anacites of the planet Aballon. They believe that the anacites' ultimate destiny is to become like their mythic progenitors, the First Ones, and colonize new worlds throughout the galaxy. They are opposed in this endeavor by the other major faction of anacites known as Those Who Wait, who are content to upgrade themselves and stockpile resources in preparation of the ultimate return of the First Ones.1
Efforts on Aballon
The faction wields considerable economic power on Aballon, as they control numerous mining operations in the Midnight Trenches, and control anacite corporations such as Automatrix Robotics who build nonsentient starship AIs and servitor bots that are widely sold. They also regularly hire off-worlders to explore the ancient cities of the First Ones on Aballon (that anacites are forbidden to enter) in order to recover clues about the identity of the First Ones and their goals.1
Colonization
In order to become more like the First Ones, Those Who Become have been sending seedships to new worlds since the introduction of Drift travel. These ships are filled with automated forges to build more anacites and foundry creches to construct androids on-site. Some of these starships are still in communication with Aballon, while others have disappeared entirely, but the upper members of Those Who Become seem uninterested in investigating the missing ships' fate; instead, they simply build and send out more ships. Recently, the Starfinder Society has entered negotiations with Those Who Become to get access to information about the missing starships, in the the hopes of using that info to launch exploratory missions.2
