Frozen Nelumbo

Frozen Nelumbo is the largest of Aballon's Ice Wells, its deep impact craters that house the planet's native plant life. It is located between the anacite megaplexes of Striving and Endeavor near the equator. The vegetation that grows in the crater has burrowed into its walls and floor, creating countless secondary tunnels and shafts that radiate from it, and thermal images taken from above make it look like a lotus plant. The crater's walls are covered in immense, thorny vines that have been carved out to form living spaces, and Frozen Nelumbo is home to the largest settlement of khizars on the planet. These settlers are protected by the Xenowarden arkship Nature's Gaze that is parked in geosynchronous orbit above it, but so far the anacite Insight Array has not made any attempts to evict or attack the outsiders.
