Jason Bulmahn began his professional career as an architect in Milwaukee, but his calling as a game designer was too strong, and he soon found himself in Seattle, writing for Wizards of the Coast 
. Early in his career at Paizo Inc. he served as associate editor for Dragon Magazine , and he rose from there to spearhead the design of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game system. Since July 2024, his most recent position at Paizo has been Director of Games, overseeing Paizo's new games and game initiatives. This removes him from day-to-day management of the Pathfinder RPG to enable focusing on new games, such as Pathfinder Quest .
