Ibra, also known as the Inscrutable, is the formless, inscrutable deity of the universe's infinite, distant cosmological mysteries. Ibra's origins and properties are unknown, and some theorize that Ibra itself is a manifestation of the cosmos.1

Dogma

The universe is an immense realm of marvels. Ibra represents these wonders—the distant galaxies, ethereal nebulae, countless orbiting worlds, and the vast void between them. While science can elucidate many of these phenomena, the splendor of the cosmos remains boundless, with new miracles and mysteries awaiting discovery, exploration, and explanation. Ibra itself embodies one of these cosmic enigmas. Neither gendered nor possessing a defined physical form, Ibra's nature is ambiguous. It remains uncertain whether Ibra is a deity born with the universe, an alien entity attaining godhood, or a personification of the cosmos itself.1

Followers of Ibra believe that truth, serenity, and purpose can be found in the beauty of the cosmos. However, it is the responsibility of each individual to uncover the universe's secrets in order to attain these rewards. Ibra does not dictate the answers to the universe's profound questions; instead, the Inscrutable favors those who venture into the realms of knowledge and science to explore the universe's wonders. In Ibra's perspective, there exists no concept of law or chaos, good or evil; only the inquiries sparked by the brilliance of a newborn star, the graceful movements of celestial bodies, and the serene solitude of a comet traversing the darkness, regardless of whether the answers to these inquiries are ever revealed.1

Church

Worshippers

Ibra is worshipped as a patron by astronomers, astrophysicists, cosmologists, mathematicians, and explorers, and its priesthood consists of many solarians and mystics. In the Pact Worlds system, Ibra's followers can most commonly be found on the starship Idari, and on the planets Liavara and Verces.1

Trivia

  • Some common aphorisms used by Ibran followers are "You stare at the cosmos, while the cosmos stares at you” and “infinitesimal time is not to be squandered.”2

Temples

Ibra's temples are usually built in outer space and always come with an observatory attached (some of which are exposed to the vacuum of space). There one can study the cosmos and record observations and hypotheses. Ibra's oldest temples have been found on uninhabited celestial bodies like Chamari.1 There is a now-abandoned temple to Ibra which was erected in the 100s AG located on an asteroid in an unnamed system in Near Space that is dedicated to the observation of the system's unique celestial event: a black hole currently in the process of consuming a star.3

Holy symbol

Ibra's holy symbol is as inscrutable as Ibra itself. The golden shape is usually assumed to be an eye, a compass or a planet, and the arrow represents the faithful's journey into the unknown. The constellation within it is unrecognisable from any world, and its significance is unknown. Some Ibrans dedicate their lives to finding the world matching the viewpoint of the constellation. According to a popular rumour, the symbol is only visible from Golarion and is the key to finding it.1
