Apholine is an Eldest who retreated from the First World long ago to live within a star, leaving behind the message:
“I am close now; yet to fully understand, I must dwell within Her glory.
”
While Apholine was never seen again, her light remains. Her worshippers, the ravais, believe that she is still dwelling in a distant sun, and that she would return to lead them once they fully understand the reason why she left the First World, bringing with her something known as 'the Seed'.12
