Calistria
More information about this subject might be available on PathfinderWiki. |
Calistria, patron goddess of the elves, is a deity of vengeance, lust, and scheming. Calistria embodies the capricious and aloof disposition of the elves, reflecting their yearning for retribution against those who harm them. Alluring, cunning, and volatile, Calistria is a mischievous deity perpetually orchestrating maneuvers to secure a more favorable position.1 Calistria exhibits serene composure even as she plots vengeance for seemingly trivial affronts. Despite the passionate aspects of her nature, Calistria advocates for emotional detachment among her followers, emphasizing the importance of maintaining clarity and self-protection. However, when boundaries are violated by malevolent actors, Calistrians respond with swift decisiveness. This pragmatic approach positions Calistria as a role model for long-lived species on living without sorrow and regret, transcending the rapid and chaotic pace of surrounding peoples and societies.2
Worshipers
Calistria's diverse aspects attract followers far and wide, and her faith has established itself on numerous planets. Her devotees, much like her ever-changing nature, express their devotion during episodes of passionate pursuits, intricate schemes, or vengeful plotting. They transition as their needs evolve. Calistria harbors no offense at this fleeting worship, for she doesn't insist on obedience or unwavering commitment from her worshippers any more than she does from her lovers.2
Vindicators
Calistria is of particular importance to a group of elves calling themselves the Vindicators, who dedicate their lives to punishing those who committed wrongs against their people during the Gap (even if they can no longer remember it).3
Church of Calistria
Although Calistrian temples exist, she’s more often worshipped at private parties, hideouts, vice dens, and brothels—places to indulge desires, gather information, or hatch plots. Most Calistrians take their privacy seriously, ensuring security measures are in place at religious gatherings. Attempts to blackmail or spy on a Calistrian often end in disaster.2
Calistria in Culture
Calistril, the second month of the Pact Standard calendar is named after Calistria.4
