Convecytes are Swarm components filled with hollow cavities to carry other Swarm creatures into battle on flat terrain. These creatures are protected by interlocking chitinous plates that run along the convecyte's back and sides, through which acid circulates and serves as a last resort in case the convecyte is killed. In order to meet the energy requirements of carrying these plates and passengers, convecytes need twice as many calories as normal creatures of their size, raising their body temperature to 90°F. A convecyte stands 8 feet tall and measures around 12 feet long.
