The Sovereign Sumpter is the heavy transport ship of the Azlanti Star Empire, manufactured in the state-run Imperial Foundry. Troops transported in a Sumpter are put into stasis, eliminating many basic needs. Sumpters are usually escorted by smaller ships like Monitors, are equipped with enough point-defence weaponry to ensure the safety of their cargo, and are big enough to land on most worlds. They can also be repurposed to transport prisoners once troops and and their equipment have been delivered.1
