The Archipelago senate is the oligarchic governing body of the Burning Archipelago, a series of platforms located within the corona of the Pact Worlds system's sun. Located in Dawnshore, the largest of the Burning Archipelago's bubbles, the senate meets in the Archipelago Senate Chambers at least once every month to discuss issues affecting more than one of the bubble platforms. These sessions can sometimes last for days as the Archipelago's various power groups discuss the issues of the day. The chambers are located near several bars and restaurants to serve the needs of the senators and lobbyists.1

Senators

Each of the Burning Archipelago's bubble-cities has the right to govern their own internal affairs, and the Archipelago Senate only handles issues that affect more than one of the bubbles. Each of the bubbles elects their own representatives to the Senate, but due to the influence of the Archipelago's various unelected power groups, especially the Linecrawler Operators Union, the Senate acts more like a negotiation society than a legislative body. Topics of discussion are generally limited to maintaining and protecting the Archipelago's infrastructure and keeping the peace between the various factions,2 but Senate discussions generally involve so much bloviating, infighting, and red tape that most problems are resolved by the larger corporations in a form of sanctioned vigilantism before the Senate can take concreate steps to address them.3

Police

The Archipelago Senate has its own security force that is charged with protecting the safety of its citizens as a whole.3

Recent debates

The NatuReal corporation recently petitioned the senate to be allowed to open company stores near their offices in Fireside; this proposal was rejected by the Archipelago Senate.4
