Solar wisp
Solar wisps are elemental creatures with animalistic intelligence created from the ejecta of a star.1
Appearance
A solar wisp is a red-hot amorphous orb of burning plasma. At birth, it measures 20 feet in diameter, before growing in mass and shrinking in size as it ages. Despite this, mature solar wisps are much more dangerous than juveniles due to their hotter temperature, sheer gravitational pull, and capability of throwing explosive flames and firing rays of light.1
Ecology
After being ejected from the star of its birth, a solar wisp will attach to a fast-moving astronomical object, usually a comet or meteroid, so it can reach a planet or moon where food is plentiful. Solar wisps are unwavering in their pursuit of minerals, which they feed on. They gradually return to space in order to move to another planet to feed.1
Solar wisps can live for centuries or millennia. A dying solar wisp burns like a nuke, and, when it dies, implodes into an extremely dangerous gravity well that affects a half-mile radius and lasts for half an hour.1
Solar wisps sometimes shed portions of themselves which rapidly cool into photino crystals used by solarians.1
