Zo! Media is one of the most popular, outlandish and gruesome entertainments in known space.1

History

Zo! Media was immediately founded after the Gap, and has earned Zo! system-wide fame and fortune. Since then, he's been approaching the milestone of a million confirmed hours of camera time.2

Goal

Zo!'s programs vary from quiz shows where contestants try to guess what happened during the Gap, to violent gladiator games and nature documentaries where disposable mindless undead camera crews approach hostile creatures. Some programs already operate outside the bounds of typical morality, but Zo! Media is always looking for new, extreme content to keep viewers engaged, and is quick to point out that all sentient crew are informed of all dangers and must sign consent waivers before any recordings take place.1

Structure

Zo! Media is entirely owned by its eponymous CEO. He looks like an elebrian necrovite and claims to operate from the Halls of the Living, but his daily methods are unknown. Sceptics attribute this to a simple crafted mystique, while conspiracy theorists have, for decades, claimed that Zo! is more than one person. Since a growing number of viewers express cult-like behaviour, some speculate that Zo! is attempting a bid for godhood. Zo! has not commented on these hypotheses.1

Zo! Media owns Zo! Imports Incorporated, a subsidiary based in Trillidiem, which gathers dangerous creatures across Near Space and has invested in several starship designs.3

Relationships

While some groups have tried to ban some of Zo! Media's shows, they technically exist on the right side of the law, though this means little to these staunch opponents, since the law on Eox and in the areas where these shows are filmed are permissive, or even negligent. The Stewards note that certain Zo! Media programs are particularly popular among the Corpse Fleet, whose members seem to enjoy watching the living attempt bizarre tasks, then fail and die. Zo! Media public relations managers, when discussing this matter with the Stewards, deny any and all connections with the Corpse Fleet. Both groups have been unable to stop the Corpse Fleet from watching the programs; the Stewards are finding a way to embed beacon codes within the transmissions to reveal Corpse Fleet bases.1
