Orocoran
Orocorans are aberrations who constituted a majority of the sentient life on Aucturn until that planet was destroyed in 324 AG during the emergence of the Newborn a Great Old One. Many died during the planet's destruction or were scattered across the Pact Worlds.12
Appearance
An orocoran resembles a wingless, four-limbed mosquito, with a long, flexible, sharp-tipped proboscis that it injected into Aucturn's surface and used to suck its narcotic black ichor. While capable of standing up to 6 feet tall upright, most prefer to crawl. The average orocoran weighs about 150 pounds.1
Abilities
Orocorans have excellent senses, and can see objects rendered invisible. While capable of understanding Aucturnian, they cannot speak; however, they can communicate limited concepts through telepathy. They defend themselves with their sharp proboscis, but can also vomit their hallucinogenic ichor on creatures prone to its effects.1
Ecology
While intelligent, orocorans have little interest in forming a society. Instead, they lived to enter what they call the kirpa, or "womb mind," by congregating around Aucturn's most vigorous veins of narcotic black ichors and consuming it. While in this state of reverie, they believed that they formed a connection with a latent consciousness within Aucturn that advised and guided them.
Orocorans lack any sort of distinctive sexual morphism, and reproduce simply by impaling each other with their proboscis, trading genetic information, and impregnating each other.1
Society
The only shared belief among orocorans was a reverence for Carsai the King, an entity they also called the First Dreamer. They can use technology, and other races on Aucturn often employed and armed orocorans as shock troops in their unending wars.1
