Khulan
Khulans are mysterious incorporeal creatures that enforce strict order and professional agreements in the Hivemarket, swiftly punishing any who incite violence or improper dealings, regardless of morality.1
Appearance
Khulans are ghostly and glossy-eyed, and their lower bodies seem to trail away to nothing.1
Ecology
Khulans viciously attack anyone who performs thefts or attempt to take over the Hivemarket by force, but never act against legitimate businesses, no matter the morality.1 They are willing to forgive those who beg for it, but usually prefer to make examples of violators, recognise no authority but theirs. A group from the Qabarat University of Xenorchaeology and Xenoanthropology has discovered that khulans migrate between the Hivemarket and Ka via underground tunnels, and believes that they personify and regulate volcanic activity on Akiton. As the planet cools and its volcanic activity halts, the khulans coped by regulating the Hivemarket instead.2
