The Hivemarket is the mercantile centre of Akiton, located along the southwest side of Ka.

Geography

The Hivemarket exists both aboveground and in the underground lava tubes beneath Ka, the latter of which provide considerable shelter from raiders and the weather.

Government

The most distinctive feature of the Hivemarket is the khulans, fey creatures that attack anyone who tries to take over the market or steal from others, but pay no attention to legitimate businesses. Several governing bodies provide directions and perform minor policing, while also constantly competing with each other for profits and influence, with the most prominent being the Goldvein Census, a network of Abadaran temples.

People

The Hivemarket's safety and lack of regulations have made it the perfect place for traders, including several large corporations like Sanjaval Spaceflight Systems, to acquire and unload cargo. With the exception of various businesses who maintain permanent dwellings, most of the Hivemarket's population is transient.
