Ka is a titanic shield volcano located on Akiton. At a height of 22 miles, it is the highest mountain in the entire Pact Worlds system, and its summit pokes past the point where the atmosphere becomes unbreathable.

Ka is a sacred site to the shobhads of Akiton. Shobhad tribes regularly battle along its slopes, and every year, shobhad chieftains and their retinue across the entire planet gather to boast, air grievances and strike alliances, in the only meeting guaranteed to be peaceful. However, the peace is not guaranteed to others, and outside of a few authorised tiny outposts and research stations along Ka's lower slopes, the shobhads have destroyed everything else built too close to the mountain.

Ka is a popular tourist attraction to those who seek to prove their fortitude in the ancient shobhad Test of the Mountain, which involves climbing to the peak. Survivors return forever changed, and in the recent centuries, many mountain-tested have gained a strange mystic connection after doing so. Some shobhads work as guides for these hopefuls, in the process keeping their clients on established paths and far away from site that the shobhads would want to keep secret, like ominous obelisks and steaming caves.
