Living apocalypse
Living apocalypses are horrific, devastating, mindless, radioactive oozes driven by chaotic and evil instinct to destroy and kill everything.1
Appearance
A living apocalypse resembles a cloud og black, impenetrable, oily smoke, lit by green radiation. A typical living apocalypse is 30 feet in diameter and weighs 187 tons.1
Ecology
A living apocalypse is created when incredibly destructive energies are released due to malice or criminal negligence, for example reactor meltdowns, usage of weapons of mass destruction, or magical experiment mishaps. Mindless and driven by a ruinous, omnicidal instinct, living apocalypses are drawn to complex structures or areas full of life to destroy and exterminate without warning. It has been suggested that they are agents of the Devourer, but the Cult of the Devourer can neither create nor control them.1
Living apocalypses can control magic and radiation with instinctual intuition. Despite being mindless, they can apply what appears to be complex tactics to deal with threats with their magic. They are sustained by pure energy, needs neither food, water nor sleep, and can survive in all environments.1
Living apocalypses can detect complex structures and lifeforms to approach and destroy within hundreds of miles. If it can't sense anything, it will start to listen to wireless signals and send signals out to lure victims in. Whole planets have been rendered lifeless after a civilisation unleashed a living apocalypse. After a few centuries, the living apocalypse will enter hibernation at a forbidding place and wait for someone to find it.1
Regions that fall victim to a living apocalypse often develop a type of solarian weapon crystal known as apocalypse crystals.1
