Jubsnuth
Jubsnuths are a species of livestock animal domesticated by the ancient kishalee and spread to many worlds in the kishalee empire that evolved into predators after the collapse of kishalee civilisation.1
Appearance
A jubsnuth is large, bulbous and has two mouths, one on the head and the other lower on the body. It is bipedal and its weight is counterbalanced by a hefty tail. Its underbelly is lined up by a mass of jointed appendages which serve to gather food. A jubsnuth's colouration depends on the nature of the environment of its homeworld. Many are green so as to make camouflage easier, although jubsnuths are usually too big for stealth.1
Ecology
The ancient jubsnuths were docile creatures, but after having been forced to fend for themselves after the kishalee civilisation fell, those that survived evolved into brutal, dim-witted, territorial predators. Due to the variety of the worlds where they were spread by the kishalee, many varieties of jubsnuths exist in the Vast, three of which have been documented by Pact Worlds explorers: the stealthy, small ambush jubsnuth; the long-legged, finned aquatic jubsnuth; and the small, winged flying jubsnuth.1
