Djezet is a rust-red starmetal like adamantine that reacts strongly to magic, and is most-commonly used in the creation of magic or hybrid items.

Use in personal items

Pure djezet is only found in liquid form, and is among the most common of the starmetals. It naturally conducts magical energy in the same way that copper conducts electricity. Magical or hybrid items made from djezet generally have more powerful magical effects because of its inclusion, and spellcasters who wear djezet armor can cast spells with a longer range and duration. Items made with djezet almost never include it in its pure form, but as an alloy mixed with steel simply called djezet alloy or djezeteel. Due to its rarity, items made from djezet are significantly more expensive than their mundane counterparts.

Use in starships

In addition to being incorporated in worn or hand-held magical or hybrid items, djezet can also be used in starship design, particularly in the construction of a ship's power cores or sensors. Djezet power cores seem to generate energy from nowhere by absorbing naturally occurring trace magical energies and using them to power minor ship systems. Djezet sensors can detect magical emanations and currents, using them to give the operator a more comprehensive understanding of the ship's surroundings and increasing their ranges.
