Barghest
More information about this subject might be available on PathfinderWiki. |
Barghests are wolf-like outsiders related to goblinoids that come to the Material Plane to spread fear and feed upon souls. Cunning, disciplined and self-centred, barghests shun chaos.1
Appearance
Each barghest has a single wolf form and a single goblinoid form, and transforms accordingly to travel incognito or attack. On average, they measure 6 feet long and weigh 200 pounds. Barghests grow in size as they earn power, and the most powerful of them, known as greater barghests, are twice as big as their kin.1
Ecology
Barghests hunt good humanoids to feed on their spiritual energy. They can only nourish themselves and grow by killing powerful opponents, and often attract their attention by committing atrocities.1
History
The first barghests were stolen by Lamashtu from the kennels of Hell, and the greatest of them still live in an Abyssal realm which they claimed as theirs. Goblins claimed that these barghests created their species, and revere them as hero-gods.1
