Aglians are the only sapient species native to Entha.1 Each individual aglian only embodies one particular concept, but when gathered into schools known as aglian collectives, they link together into an intelligent consciousness.2

Appearance

An aglian is an eel-like creature whose colouration varies depending on the content and complexity of their concept. Those who embody specific ideas like coral or bedrock are dull grey, while those who embody broad theoretical concepts like truth and curiosity have rainbow hues.2

Ecology

In an aglian collective, individual aglians link together like neurons in a brain to form a consciousness. Most aglians spend their time as part of intelligent collectives, in which each member contributes and receive others' concepts, creating a personhood both collective and individual for each aglian.2

Aglians feed on seaweed, which is also likely to be the source of their telepathic ability.3

Aglians sexually reproduce with the genetic material contributed by at least two parents. Each elver has an equal chance to embody either the same concept as a parent or a new one resulting from the experiences of each.2

Habitat

Aglians heavily depend on the sustaining magic of the coral-like reefs that dot the sea beds of Entha.1 Since the Evgeniya-Jaimisson Company claimed Entha for a terraforming project, the aglians have become more and more desperate to save their homes from the Company's encroachment, including the destruction of their forest.3

Society

Aglians often hold council meetings, during which they exchange ideas and components to solve problems.4
