Xiritixes are proteans born (or possibly mutated from another protean species) when large sections of the Maelstrom are pulled into the Drift. They see the rest of the Great Beyond as stagnant and seek to remedy this by inflicting the same planar mixing that created them on others. When disguised, xiritixes usually keep a feature of their original forms, making them easy to spot.
