Xararians are a species of humanoids native to Xarar. They are ruled by a cabal of powerful thaumaturges who ban all religion and technology to hold on to their power.1

Appearance

A xararian has wrinkled brows, pale skin and long white hair. Their thaumaturges mark their high station with elaborate staves and black flowing robes.1

Society

Xararians who show a magical talent and embrace their values, as well as a rare few members of species conquered by them, are collected from their homes and sent to Xarar's magical academies, there to be trained as a member of the ruling spellcaster caste, while the rest spend their lives in backbreaking slavery. For fear of a peasant revolution aided by divine power or advanced constructs, all religion and technology are suppressed. When Triune revealed the existence of the Drift, it was seen as the greatest threat by the thaumaturges, who worked hard and fast to erase all records of its existence on Xarar. Relying on divination and teleportation, they also dispatch dedicated members across the galaxy toassess the growing threat of outside technology.1
