Sky fisher
Sky fishers are a species of aerial ambush predators native to Castrovel, capable of reeling in their prey.1
Appearance
The sky fisher's blue skin is due to the hemocyanin within its blood. It can deoxygenate its blood to turn itself colourless and translucent but sluggish. Their rounded bodies can cast sticky, anaesthesising filaments to drag prey, and magnify sounds from the ground.1
Ecology
Sky fishers are relatively intelligent, capable of learning speech and analysing patterns. Because of this, Castrovelian cities consider them a major threat and employ automated defences to scare them off.1
Sky fishers lay their eggs in saltwater. The young spend 7-8 months in the sea before climbing to land, losing their ability to breathe underwater and catching the winds to become airborne, after which they never return to the surface.1
