Shodrav
Shodravs are predators from the Shadow Plane that distort the veil between it and other planes.1
Appearance
A shodrav resembles a theropod dinosaur with three oval eyes, a fanged mouth and long skin flaps to both sides of its face. Its pallid body is filled with countless shadow tenrils and tubular openings. It is 8 feet tall, 15 feet long (including the tail) and weighs 750 pounds.1
Ecology
Shodravs make their lair in areas of the Shadow Plane that border the Material Plane, where they hunt for their preferred prey. Their very presence weakens the barrier between the Shadow Plane and other overlapping planes, causing creatures to cross the planes without volition; because of this, a shodrav's lair can be inferred by mysterious disappearances or the presence of extraplanar visitors. In time, the barrier can vanish, and the Shadow Plane's territories displace that of the original plane. The older and bigger a shodrav is, the bigger the affected area could be, though rarely larger than a big building. If a shodrav leaves its lair, the region eventually returns to normal.1
Anyone looking through a wound caused by a shodrav's shadowy tendrils on the Material Plane or Shadow Plane will see the same area on the opposite plane. Corpses with these wounds are sometimes harvested by Kuthite scholars and scholars to create magic items.1
