The Refugists are a group of androids who have settled a large cluster of uninhabited asteroids in the Diaspora of the Pact Worlds system in the hopes of creating a home world for their kind. To this end, they have recently begun to pull together these asteroids with tractor beams and artificial gravity generators, although their collection does not compare in size to the asteroid belt's larger celestial bodies. The Free Captains pirates have offered their protection to the androids on several occasions, but are always rebuffed when they get too close. The Refugists actively recruit androids to their cause with a religious fervor, but insist that they must leave their former lives behind completely if they join them.
