Lantanirians are a plantlike species inhabiting the city of Lantanir deep within the Pact Worlds sun.1

Appearance

A lantanirian has green skin, which can sprout flowers, and five identical limbs that can function as arms and legs.1

Ecology

Lantanirians sustain themselves with photosynthesis, so they have no need to grow food. They rely on magic, which every member of their species can use. They can tolerate much higher temperatures than most Pact Worlds species, but are not immune to fire and cannot exit Lantanir.1

History

Lantanirians are a very old race, and the anassanois suspect that they were contemporaries of the First Ones, but this has never been confirmed or denied.1

Society

Despite their natural magic, lantanirians take sciences seriously and spend most of their time analysing the sun: their understanding of stellar fusion is second to none. They keep careful records of their experiments, but contribute little to the scientific community as a whole, since they have no contact with the Burning Archipelago and only occasionally speak to the anassanois or natives of the Plane of Fire that come to the sun.1

Lantanirians do not use any weapons or build vehicles to leave Lantanir. They are never anxious or claustrophobic about living in a deep-sun city, only responding 'Not yet.' when asked if they worry about the bubble failing.1

Religion

Every day, lantanirians pray to a deity called the Keeper of Knowledge; it is unknown if this is another name of Triune or Oras, or a god only known to them and possibly the First Ones.1
