Dormakhabus are enigmatic predators suspected to share an origin with and prey upon grays.1

Appearance

A dormakhabu resembles a six-legged, slender alligator with rubbery flesh, three eyestalks on top of its head, bony plates running down its spine, a long tentacle under its eyestalks and a wide, tooth-filled mouth in the centre of its torso, capable of spitting acid. Its forelimbs end in claws sturdy enough to dig through stone. Dormakhabus exist slightly out of phase with the Material Plane, allowing them to pass through solid matter.1

Ecology

Due to their shared anatomy, dormakhabus are speculated to be related to grays, but have not been seen cooperating with them. In fact, according to an unconfirmed report on the infosphere, an anonymous person claims that when they were held captive by grays, they saw a creature matching the description of a dormakhabu, burrowing up from the floor and unleashing a telepathic howl on grays and captives alike, incapacitating them with confusing visions, then spitting acid on the grays and eating one of them. In the chaos, the witness escaped, but no solid evidence for this story has been found. It is unknown why and how dormakhabus track down and prey upon grays.1
