Aqlath
Aqlaths are towering boar-like monstrous humanoids with psychic powers native to Lathlath IV.1
Appearance
Aqlaths resemble shaggy boars with large tusks, two arms and an extra leg. Even a juvenile is several feet taller than a human, and adults can reach heights exceeding 15 feet. Their psychic powers manifest as a crown of charged bone horns on their furry heads: aqlaths with bigger and more numerous horns are psychically stronger.1
Habitat
Due to the rarity of good spots to build cities on Lathlath IV, aqlaths learnt to hew the permafrost and stone to construct buildings. Warmth is provided by tapping into geothermal heat beneath the crust.1
History
When aqlaths brought the rare and valuable elements in Lathlath IV's crust to the interplanetary market, they attracted many enemies who wished to subjugate them and exploit their world, most notably the sivvs.1 Eventually, the sivvs utterly destroyed Lathlath IV and enslaved the surviving aqlaths.2
Society
Aqlaths value insight and physical might, and developed a strong community over thousands of generations. They hone their psychic powers to defend their home from invaders, and only the most misanthropic individuals actually turn their powers on others of their kind. Having spent countless centuries digging for heat, aqlaths are skilled miners.1
