The Amity Initiative is a militant fringe cult of Hylax who believes that peace can only be brought to the galaxy through force and magic.

History

Having been founded only a few years ago, the Amity Initiative has seen some success, most notably on Temblan, a planet in the Vast populated by three civilisations warring over the resources that would allow them to build their first starship. After descending onto the planet and dismantling all war machines, the Amity Initiative laid out the plans for a global government that would fund a space agency. Its mystics, well-versed in enchantment, successfully changed the minds of resistant Temblanians.

Goal

The Amity Initiative travels from system to system on an armed fleet led by the Tranquility, a dreadnought manufactured by United Interfaith Engineering. They put an end to any war they encounter by bombarding both sides into submission, then magically forcing them to sign a peace treaty.

Structure

The founder and leader of the Amity Initiative calls himself the Benefactor; his past is shrouded in mystery.

Relationships

Most Pact Worlds citizens find the Amity Initiative abhorrent, but no one has mustered an army against them. Religious scholars suspect evil influence behind their magic, as Hylax would never allow her name to be invoked in this way. According to unconfirmed reports from within the Initiative, the Benefactor has been seen speaking to a devil on the Tranquility's bridge.
