Universal polymer base
Universal polymer bases, also known as UPBs, are tiny units of flexible crafting materials also used as physical currency in locations where credits are either uncommon or undesired.1 Slightly larger than a grain of rice, they can be combined to form many types of commonly-used goods including electronics, weapons, or armor, can be spun into fabrics, or even broken down into their constituent chemicals. The value of a UPB is directly tied to that of a credit, so that 1 UPB is always worth 1 credit.23
