Armor

Armor is a protective covering or device worn or wielded to prevent damage from being inflicted to an object, creature, or vehicle by weapons, projectiles, magic, or other potentially dangerous environments or acts.

Materials

Contemporary armor is made from diverse materials like carbon fiber, ceramic, fabric, metal, and polymers, often with multiple materials combined in a single piece for optimal protection. Some even incorporate ancient materials like animal hide. Creatures wear armor not only for protection but also to showcase their personal style.

Armor pieces for humanoids

Many armors designed to be worn by humanoids consist of numerous pieces including a helmet, gloves, boots, and a suit that covers the torso, all of which cover the wearer from head to foot. Most boots contain technology that anchor the wearer to a solid surface when used in a zero-gravity environment. Almost all modern armor also includes a personal comm unit that is integrated into the suit.
