Shaes are humanoid-shaped outsiders made of wispy shadowstuff from the Shadow Plane. They claim to have transcended physical form, and look down upon beings that have not followed them. As other races tend to have difficulty discerning their presence, shaes usually wear form-fitting clothing and masks. Most shaes live in the shadowy, insular Sheth system, having moved there after their old citadel  vanished during the Gap alongside Golarion. They travel the Shadow Plane in elegant starships, and some of them exploit their natural mystique to recruit humanoid followers who seek their secret of transforming their body into insubstantial shadows.
