Mining robots are an expensive robot model outfitted with repair nanites, a drill arm, a cutting arm and fine manipulators for the purpose of mining in dangerous locales. Typical mining robots also come with harmonic resonators which serve to soften the ground and make it easier for the robot to burrow. The most renowned manufacturer of mining robots in the galaxy is dwarven firm Ulrikka Clanholdings, who sells them at a premium price and enforces tight contracts that ensure that the robots won't be used for a purpose that conflicts with Ulrikka's interests.
