The Midwives are the group of 13 hooded spellcasters who rule the tower-city of Amniek at the foot of the egg-shaped Gravid Mound on the planet Aucturn. They believe that the Great Old One within Aucturn is already pregnant and when Gravid Mound bursts and gives birth, they will greatly benefit from the gifts they will receive.
