Living hologram
Living holograms, also colloquially called tech ghosts, are holograms that gained a malevolent sentience due to faults in their hardware.1
Appearance
Living holograms can appear in almost any shape, limited only by the capabilities of their projectors. They can hold perfectly still so as to appear as normal holograms. Despite being made of living light, they can temporarily cause their fists or melee weapons to become substantial and deal actual physical harm.1
Ecology
Living holograms are always confined to the area near their projector, and often hide in other holographic displays to ambush foes. Although a hologram itself can be attacked and destroyed, this is not permanent unless if its projector is destroyed or repaired. Living holograms are aware that their existences are tied to their projectors and protect the hardware at all costs.1
Society
Some living holograms recruit gullible or fearful biological creatures as servants and task them with creating more living holograms, augment their projectors or otherwise allow them to exert their influence far away from these machinery.1
