Kunnid
Kunnids are enigmatic cryptids that wield magnetic powers and inexorably journey towards the magnetic north of astronomical objects for inscrutable purposes. They are often incorporated into superstitions, and have given rise to many conspiracy theories.1
Appearance
Kunnids have three legs, cloven hoofs, irregular hornlike growths on the skull, and dozens of dangling prehensile tentacles. On average, they stand 10 to 12 feet tall at the shoulder and weigh 1200 pounds. Other species rarely witness kunnids, and only see the evidence of their passage in the form of the odd tracks they left behind when marching in straight lines.
Ecology
Due to the dearth of hard facts, researchers do not agree on the true nature of kunnids, whether they are tools of exploration created by another species, members of a lost culture, or even undead explorers. On an astronomical object, they travel in a straight line toward the magnetic north, and usually do not attack unless obstructed or confused by unnatural magnetic fields. At the magnetic north, kunnids build nests and mate, but their population never seems to increase, as groups of kunnids often vanish mysteriously overnight.
