Driftlures are giant, pale crab-like predators covered in coarse, bioluminescent cilia. They attack by attaching themselves to the hull ofa starship, psychically compelling the crew to seek exposure through the Drift (neglecting safety precautions in the process), then collecting the choicest specimens (which might still be clawing for breath) among their cilia, for unknown motives.
