Driftdead
Driftdead are undead creatures formed by the tormented spirit of a creature that dies in the Drift.1
Becoming a driftdead
When a humanoid dies in the Drift while consumed with a strong negative emotion, it can become a driftdead, leaving its old corpse behind and forming a new undead body out of the mingled planar energies of the Drift.1
Ecology
A driftdead's body is inextricably linked to the Drift. If one ever leaves the Drift, its planar body remains within the Drift, and the driftdead becomes incorporeal until returning there. A driftdead is bound to the Drift and unable to escape and reach the Boneyard for judgement. Its damaged mind is overwhelmed by madness, rage, and hatred for the living.1
Abilities
A driftdead psychically broadcasts its confusion, affecting all who venture too close. Just as the Drift tears away chunks of planar material, a driftdead can tear the molecular bonds of matter.1
