Ning
More information about this subject might be available on PathfinderWiki. |
Ning is a small continent located in the southern hemisphere of Triaxus. Historically isolated from the dragon-ryphorian wars raging in the rest of Triaxus prior to the Gap, it continues to exist apart, eschewing the authority of the Pact Worlds.1
Government
Ning is a massive merchant republic led by the Immortal Suzerain elected by top-ranking executives. The Immortal Suzerain lives a luxurious life and works around the clock to make far-ranging business decisions which might have ramifications for generations, advised by the Circle of Wisdom, the lifelong leaders of five philanthropic, non-profit organisations, whose interests are considered purer than those of business oligarchs.1
Ning is divided into 14 square-shaped mercantiles, each ruled by the executives of the four largest non-competing companies in each region. The whole system is supported by station, hierarchy, honour, and tradition.1
Inhabitants
Besides the native ryphorians, Ning's obession with honor and status has made it a popular place for vesk and kasatha immigrants. Its best-known citizens, however, are the ukara or "battleflowers", warriors of indeterminate gender who fight in ritual combats that are broadcast throughout the Pact Worlds system.2
